Bare Essentials II - pattern for leathercraft

The Bare Essentials Handbag II carries just those items you MUST have with you at all times. Phone, credit cards, ID, cash, but not much more! You can dress it up, or dress it down, carry it to a wedding or a dance party, out on a date, to church.....just about anywhere you want!

This is a new style, a larger version of that old standby....the two flap coin purse. It has two flaps that swoop away from each other. Each flap covers its' own compartment. The 'Dream' measures in at 5-1/4" at the opening, 6-3/4" tall, & 7-3/4" at the widest point. The 'Harlequin' is slightly bigger, as it is set up for rivets. It measures 5-1/4" at the opening, 7" tall, & 8-1/4" at the widest point. And the front pocket on both has a nicely scalloped edge.

You can add some bling with shiny or sparkly rivets, or go subtle with matching stitching. You can use a snap, a jeans button, or a button stud for a closure. Try using it with a braided cord for a strap instead of a chain. Use a plain leather for the back and a metallic leather print for the front and......WOW! Yup...We've got so many ideas!

AND ever so easy to make! A plain and simple stitched one (stitched by hand) with just standard snaps should take right around an hour to make. Give or take a few minutes!
